| “SUNRISE” is a commissioned work for a resident of Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas. The
installation that measures nine feet high and ten feet wide is
installed on the east wall of their three story home and is a
representation of the fantastic view of the morning sunrise and the
white sands and turquoise waters outside their window. “SUNRISE”
is a 4 piece handmade paper installation. The top piece represents the
rising sun; the second piece the sky, clouds and birds, the third piece
the turquoise blue waters and white sands and the fourth piece a coconut
palm. “SUNRISE”
was created entirely of handmade paper. The pulp, made from leaves and
flowers of the island mixed with recycled paper, became the canvas and
the painting medium. Each piece was allowed to dry in a manner that adds
a feeling of movement to the installation. Enjoy the “Sunrise”. |
